The gearbox is a critical train component that transfers power from the motor to the wheels. Before a train enters service, its gearbox is rigorously evaluated by this test system to confirm that it can withstand operating conditions and meet the expected performance levels. Planck Signaling completed and delivered the system to TMS Motor in 2023 for use in their gearbox test operations.
An algorithm designed in MATLAB acquires analog signals from the sensors, processes them through a processor and visualises the results. Data can be monitored in real time and exported in raw form across different output formats for further analysis.
